Course Description
The course is designed to provide construction workers with information they need to know to recognize fall hazards in the workplace and to properly utilize equipment to prevent falls.
Objectives
  • •Residential construction employees will be able to recognize hazards in the work area involving stairways.
  • •Students will be able to understand what the federal and state requirements are regarding construction and usage of stairways.
  • •Students will understand dimensions and materials needed to construct stairways.
  • •Students will understand how to construct and install complimentary stairway components such as landings and handrails.
  • •Students will be able to understand the proper methods to utilize to build stairways devoid of intrinsic safety flaws.
