Course Description
The course is designed to provide construction workers with information they need to know to recognize fall hazards in the workplace and to properly utilize equipment to prevent falls.
Objectives
  • •Residential construction employees will be able to recognize the nature of fall hazards associated with ladder usage.
  • •Students will be able to understand what the federal and state requirements are regarding training employees on proper use, placement, and care in handling ladders.
  • •Students will understand the nature of structural defects inherent in ladders and procedures to follow to eliminate these defects.
  • •Students will learn which ladder type to use for given activities.
  • •Students will be able to understand the requirements for loads carrying capacity and structural limitations of ladders.
